JOSH TURNER |
Hey, I'm Josh Turner. I'm from Hannah, SC and grew up dreaming of being a country singer. I started out singing in church and eventually started singing country when I turned 13. I moved to Nashville in 1998 and landed a record deal in 2001 with MCA Records-Nashville.
My favorite artists are Randy Travis, John Anderson, Johnny Cash, Vern Gosdin, and Hank Williams. One of my favorite newcomers is Ashton Sheperd .
I've been very blessed in my life to have been able to sing and write country music for a living.
I appreciate all kinds of music, but I really enjoy listening to contemporary R&B. I also like listening to classical music when I'm trying to relax and unwind.
I think country music is popular because it appeals to hard-working people all across the world. It's a music that comes from real life, love, and relationships. The future of it is looking really good. The country music audience is rapidly expanding and the business is flourishing.
Country music for me is therapy. It's something that's always been fun for me and it allows me to express myself. My style is summed up in a song from my Everything Is Fine album called "South Carolina Low Country."
7. Did you know that you have fans in Europe? I'm very grateful for the support I've gotten from the fans in Europe. I look forward to the day I get to go there and play for them.
I'm always trying to write, sing, and play better with every album, but I always strive to stay consistent in what I'm trying to accomplish.
I've never had a "Plan B," so I can't imagine doing anything other than country music.
I just want to thank all of the fans in France for being so supportive. Remember to go to www.joshturner.com for everything related to me and my music. Thank you! |
